#8 Is google making us stupid

Aside from this essay being long and kinda all over the place, it took me a few attempts at reading it to actually finish. But i do agree with the internet basically taking over everything from instant messages to internet radio. I love having the axcess we have now, but it is over used in some cases. As for reading asa whole, i also have to agree we have gotten lazt. We all tend to skim papers vs. Readinv them. It used to be pages and still for some it is, but for others its now even paragraphs. Bruce Friedmen mentioed once being a blogger for a while he lost hs long term abilities to ready such books as war and peace because now he skims his was through it.b

#9 possible claims

#1) Technology and its over uses, I believe technology is consuming us. Where once we had people getting to know one another, now we have white wires hanging from our ears blocking out what the world has to say/offer. #2) Education, and the raising costs of tuition. Makes it almost impossible to get a degree in the time offered, without owing $1,000's of dollars. Where we have people with no education getting anywhere from 10-15 dollars an hour. #3) Tattoos and piercings used to be looked down apon, but as now we are easily accepting them. Even parents are allowing their minor children to get them.

#7 Love from head to toe!

After wanting and desiring a new baby for so long, and finally accepting that it was not going to happen. Lorena's mother started praying for god to take this desire away, getting a new job and keeping busy she accepted this. When one day the phone rang and to their shock it was a family friend offering this brand new baby to their family (as his mother could no longer provide), after a family meeting and agreeing the family took the little baby in. Night after night the new mother cared for this baby, with strong feelings but not love just yet. "There were times when my mom held him and felt guilty because she did not feel the same intensity of love for him as she had for us." Yet she chose to love Tyler James more and more everyday. Now Tyler is 11, and they are as close as any other family, with "gotch-ya" day (celebrating the day they got wonderful Tyler James). This is an amazing story, and I cry when reading or hearing it because it is so beautiful. Where she admits, her mother not feeling all the love she should have had for Tyler at first but admitting it came with time. I do believe love is a choice. I love my babies so very much! I could never imagine how hard this was for this family or any other family that goes through it. I would have to admit, I've thought of adoption lots, but this give me know outlooks on it. What if I didn't love this new baby the same? What if they were treated different because they are different?

#6 Facebook in a Crowd

Facebook in a crowd-struck me as so true. It seems very few people actually like to make plans and get together anymore. It seems as though chatting once or twice a week on f.b. or through text messages is "staying in touch". Where in reality we are falling farther and farther apart. I have 202 f.b. friends on my page, and I personally know or am related to about 85% of them. But how often do we chat, or see one another is a whole different story. Hell most of my "friends" on there I went to school with, and are truly just acquaintances that wanna keep in touch. I cannot even attend most of my friends events on f.b. cause nothing is PRE PLANNED its all, fly by the seat of your pants. Where as, before when we used phones, met up in person, or mailed each other to connect was more fulfilling it seems. You could plan things together and around each others schedules. Now it seems most people set the date and f.b. post it. Do not get me wrong, I am very please with this day in age's technology, even my 7 year old daughter knows so much about computers and f.b. she has her own account with just family on it. I think its a bit over used and kinda depressing because it actually makes us feel emotionally whole, but really typing to someone via a screen makes you feel more lonely all in all. I think we should make more of an effort to spend time with people, gives you the actual one on one we all need. In closing, f.b. is great in my opinion, but only as long as we are staying in touch with real people as well. You will be lonely as hell is you just stayed in all day on the computer lacking real human contact, its just not healthy.
